Major Book Update
Today the early release version of AI Agents with MCP was updated with the work I've been doing on it over the past month. What comes with this is a major change to the book's organization so that we can go deeper into building with the MCP Python SDK. Building a client now covers 2 chapters, and building an MCP server will be spread across 3 entire chapters. We have lots of ground to cover!
The new chapters and changes to them are listed below:
- Chapter 1: Agentic AI And MCP - updated
- Chapter 2: An Introduction to the Model Context Protocol - updated
- Chapter 3: Making An Intelligent Application Agentic with MCP Clients - updated and reorganized
- Chapter 4: MCP Clients: Advanced Use And Best Practices - updated and reorganized
- Chapter 5: Building MCP Servers: Providing Tools, Prompts, And Resources To Applications - brand new
The book is clocking in at 144 pages, with 3 chapters to go. If you are an O'Reilly Learning Platform subscriber, you can read the raw, unedited manuscript now at this link.
